Autavia 11630 GMT

Autavia 11630 Cal. 14, c1974. On loan

The GMT’s are amongst the most sought after of the vintage Heuer’s, and it’s easy to see why. Unfortunately I don’t own this beautiful watch. It’s on load from fellow Heuerist and OTD & TZ-UK regular James. Thanks again for letting me handle this wonderful Heuer.

This particular model has two types of dial, both look identical at first glance, but if you study the two dial variation you’ll see subtle differences. This one is the rarer, having longer half hour markings on the left hand hour register. It also has more rounded minute numerals on the right hand 30 minute register. These markings are similar to it’s brother-in-law, the Calculator from the same period.

It can be seen here in the 1974 catalogue on OTD

It’s a wonderful watch to wear, the colours making a welcome change from the black and white dials so commonly seen nowadays.

  2. I inherited this exact watch same colors face, hands, dial but with a Heuer stainless steel strap. When I took it out of my fathers dresser draw two weeks ago it was working but since then it has stopped looks to need a cleaning and there are a few small scratches on the crystal and some scuffs on the stainless the face is in perfect condition was wondering how much this watch could sell for as is verses being cleaned and in perfect condition and if I was to have someone go over it who do I send it to and what should I expect to pay I live in the Boston Mass area and talked to a high end watch dealer in the jeweler’s building and he didn’t seem to know a lot about the watch and offered what I thought to be a low ball offer to buy it, any info and help anyone could offer is appreciated ,Thank you Earl

    • Earl… Obviously it’s hard to say without photographs, but I’d say it would be worth £3-4k. If the bracelet is a signed Heuer GF bracelet, these are worth around £500.
